Events

5K Race

Category: Competitive
Format: Shotgun start, timed race
Time: 7:45 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.
Location: Memorial Stadium
Roster Size: Unlimited Participation
Points Available: 1st place: 100; 2nd place: 75; 3rd place: 50; 4th place: 25. Each participating team will receive 10 points.
Age Groups: (U30) (30-39) (40-49) (50+)

Notes:
For the 5K Walk/Run, the number of participants that a team can have in the race is unlimited. However, only the top male and female in each age group (within your company’s top finishers) will be scored for the team points, even though a team may have more than one male and one female participating in any given age group. All runners will be competing against other runners within their same age group and company division to score points for their finish. Your team’s top male and female finisher from each age group (29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-plus) will have their points combined to determine each team’s point total for the race, which will then award a first, second, third and fourth place. All teams participating in the 5K Race will be awarded 10 points.

The following scoring is in place:

Individual Points: 5, 4 and 3 points will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female runners in each of the four age groups. These points are awarded within each of the four company divisions.

Team Points: Team points will be awarded based upon the cumulative score of the teams’ top male and female runner across all age groups, per division. 100 points will be awarded to the team with the most cumulative points, 75 points will be awarded to the team with the 2nd most cumulative points, and points will move down incrementally from there with 50 points for 3rd and 25 points for 4th. 10 points will be awarded to the 5th place team and all teams that finish below 5th. In the event that teams finish with the same amount of points, each team will be awarded full points for that particular place.

Dodgeball 

Category: Competitive
Format: Single Elimination Tournament
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Clements Center
Roster Size: Six (6) players with minimum of two (2) female; and up to four (4) substitutes.
Points Available: 1st place: 100; 2nd place: 75; 3rd place: 50; 4th place: 25. Each participating team will receive 10 points.

Notes:
The dodgeball tournament will be a single elimination bracket, played under the National Amateur Dodgeball Association (NADA) rules. Each company will be permitted to enter one (1) team into the tournament. Each game begins with no more than six (6) players competing on either side, including at least two (2) females; each team can have up to four (4) substitutes. Teams may only substitute players in between games or in the case of an injury. All games will be played for three (3) minutes or until all opponents on one side are eliminated. The match will consist of three (3) games, with the winner being declared from the best two (2) out of three (3) games. The top four (4) teams per division will be awarded 100, 75, 50 and 25 points accordingly, and all teams participating will receive 10 points. Third and fourth place will be determined by a consolation match occurring prior to the championship match.

Tug of War 

Category: Competitive
Format: Single Elimination Tournament
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Memorial Stadium
Roster Size: Each team may enter one team of eight (8) employees with at least two (2) of those being female.
Points Available: 1st place: 100; 2nd place: 75; 3rd place: 50; 4th place: 25. Each participating team will receive 10 points.

Notes:
Each company may enter one team of eight (8) employees, including at least two (2) females in the single elimination bracket. The winning team must pull its opponent five yards from center. A five-minute time limit will be put on all pulls; the team ahead will be declared the winner when time expires. Rubber/plastic cleats are allowed and gloves are permitted, but no metal spikes are allowed. Participants must make it an effort to stay on their feet and not sit, kneel or lie down for advantage. Team members are also not allowed to wrap the rope around their arms/bodies. Winning teams will advance in their company division until an overall winner per division is declared. The top four (4) teams per division will be awarded 100, 75, 50 and 25 points accordingly, and all teams participating will receive 10 points. Third and fourth place will be determined by a consolation match occurring prior to the championship match.

One-mile Walk 

Category: Wellness
Format: Shotgun Start
Time: 8:45 a.m.
Location: Memorial Stadium
Roster Size: Unlimited
Points: First 25 employees to finish the walk are each awarded four (4) points for 100 points maximum per team.

Notes:
Participation is unlimited. Each team may enter as many walkers as they wish for the One-mile Walk. The first 25 employees per team who finish the walk will be eligible for scoring. Each member who completes the walk will receive four (4) points for a maximum of 100 points per team. This is a non-timed event however, every participant in the One-mile Walk must still sign an event waiver.

Basketball  Shooting Competition

Category: Skill
Format: Drop-in Participation (full team must be present)
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Rike Center
Roster Size: Four (4) employees (at least two (2) females)
Points Available: Teams will be awarded the number of total points earned during the competition. Each participating team will receive 10 points.

Notes:
Each company may enter one (1) team of four (4) players, including at least two (2) females. Each participant will attempt to shoot five (5) basketballs from their choice of pre-marked spots, each with a different point value awarded when the baskets are made. Participants may not do a “redo” shot.  Individual scores will be added together to create a team score.

Cornhole  Toss

Category: Skill
Format: Drop-in Participation (full team must be present)
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Memorial Stadium
Roster Size: Four (4) employees (at least two (2) females)
Points: Teams will be awarded the number of total points earned during the competition by individuals. Each participating team will receive 10 points.

Notes:
Each company may enter one (1) team of four (4) players, including at least two (2) females. Each participant will be given five (5) chances to toss a cornhole bag onto the board. Players will score three (3) points for each bag that goes into the hole on the board and one (1) point for each bag that lands and stays on the board. Any bag that hits the ground before hitting the board is ‘dead’ and won’t be eligible to score points even if it bounces onto the board. Individual scores will be added together to create a team score.

Golf Chipping

Category: Skill
Format: Drop-in Participation (full team must be present)
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Otterbein Baseball Field
Roster Size: Four (4) employees (at least one (1) female)
Points: Teams will be awarded the number of total points earned during the competition by individuals. Each participating team will receive 10 points.

Notes:
Each company may enter one (1) team of four (4) employees, including at least one (1) female. Members will chip five (5) balls from 60 yards into progressively larger circles surrounding a flag. The smallest circle will be worth 20 points, the middle worth 10 points and the outer-most worth 5 points. A hole-in-one will be worth 30 points. Individual scores will be added together to create a team score. Based on total team score, points will be awarded to the top four (4) teams per division; 100, 75, 50 and 25 points accordingly, and all teams participating will receive 10 points. Golf clubs will be provided, but competitors can bring their own golf clubs.

Football Toss  

Category: Skill
Format: Drop-in Participation (full team must be present)
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Memorial Stadium
Roster: Four (4) employees (at least two (2) females)
Points: Teams will be awarded the number of total points earned during the competition. Each participating team will receive 10 points.

Notes:
Each company may enter one (1) team of four (4) employees, including at least two (2) females. Each team member will attempt to throw five (5) footballs through different targets. Targets will be placed at 5 yards, 10 yards and 15 yards away, with participants scoring 5, 10 or 15 points based on the target they make. Participants may only use footballs provided at the event. No participant may do a “redo” throw. Individual scores will be added together to create a team score.

Frisbee Toss  

Category: Skill
Format: Drop-in Participation (full team must be present)
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Memorial Stadium
Roster: Four (4) employees (at least two (2) females)
Points: Teams will be awarded the number of total points earned during the competition. Each participating team will receive 10 points.

Notes:
Each company may enter one (1) team of four (4) employees, including at least two (2) females. Each team member will be given one minute to throw as many frisbees as they can. Partners will be placed at a distance of 20 yards away. Each throw that is caught by their teammate and placed in the bin will be worth one (1) point. Individual scores will be added together to create a team score.

Soccer Kick

Category: Skill
Format: Drop-in Participation (full team must be present)
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Memorial Stadium
Roster: Four (4) employees (at least two (2) females)
Points: Teams will be awarded the number of total points earned during the competition. Each participating team will receive 10 points.

Notes: Each company may enter one (1) team of four (4) employees, including at least two (2) females. Each team member will kick five (5) soccer balls per turn through the soccer goal. The soccer goal will have multiple targets that will reflect different point totals. Rubber/plastic cleats are allowed but no metal spikes are allowed. Points will be awarded based on difficulty. Each participant is limited to one (1) turn. Individual scores will be added together to create a team score.

Hockey Shot  

Category: Skill
Format: Drop-in Participation (full team must be present)
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Memorial Stadium
Roster: Four (4) employees (at least two (2) females)
Points: Teams will be awarded the number of total points earned during the competition. Each participating team will receive 10 points.

Notes:
Each team member will shoot five (5) pucks through the net. Distances of 5, 10 and 15 yards will reflect different point totals. Points will be awarded based on difficulty. Participants do not have to shoot all shots from the same distance. Each participant is limited to one (1) turn. Individual scores will be added together to create a team score.

Format: Drop-in Participation (full team must be present)

Roster: Four (4) employees (at least two (2) females)
Points: Teams will be awarded the number of total points earned during the competition. Each participating team will receive 10 points.

Notes:
Each company may enter one (1) team of four (4) employees, including at least two (2) females. Each team member will be allotted five (5) passes to their partner. Partners will be placed at a distance of 15 yards away. Each completed pass will be worth five (5) points. No participant may do a “redo” pass. Individual scores will be added together to create a team score.

Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby

Category: Skill
Format: Drop-in Participation (full team must be present)
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Otterbein Softball Field
Roster: Each team can consist of up to four (4) team members (at least one (1) female)
Points: Each home run is worth three (3) points.  Each participating team will receive 10 points.

Notes:
The home run derby contest will be wiffle ball self pitch. Each team can consist of up to four (4) team members, including at least one (1) female. Each team member must bat but not all team members are required to pitch. “Batters” will have one minute to hit as many home runs as possible. Each home run will be worth three (3) points. The distance from the pitcher to the batter must be a minimum of 15 feet. All home runs will be counted towards the total team score. Bats and wiffle balls will be provided, batters are not permitted to bring their own equipment. Cleats are permitted.
